Dr. Mary Allen
Dr. Allen started her career of veterinary medicine at the tender age of 14. She continued to work summer and holidays in the veterinary field until the time she graduated from college.
After college, Dr. Allen began working in canine training. For four years, she worked as the training program manager for Canine Companions for Independence, working to train dogs for people with disabilities. She additionally trained dogs in obedience, tracking, search and rescue, and Schutzhund.
Dr. Allen also has many hobbies that keep her occupied outside of the hospital. She is a trained martial artist and has taught courses in self-defense. She enjoys hiking, kayaking, and being in the mountains. She is also a voracious reader of science fiction and fantasy novels. Dr. Allen also thoroughly enjoys traveling and has been all throughout Europe and parts of Africa.
Dr. Allen is a member of the Veterinary Emergence and Critical Care Association, American Association of Feline Practitioners, and International Academy of Veterinary Pain Management.
